Sarracenia leucophylla
(crimson pitcher plant)

This is our only species with upright pitchers with white or translucent patches, in which the hood is more or less flat. The only other species with white or translucent patches in North Carolina is hooded pitcher plant. That species, however, exhibits hoods that are curved like a parrot beak.

Sarracenia leucophylla: Rare (introduced to North Carolina, not native); wet pine savannas; Coastal Plain
