We have only two species in North Carolina with upright pitchers and white or translucent patches: the hooded pitcher plant (S. minor) and the crimson pitcher plant (S. leucophylla). The hooded pitcher plant is the only one with hoods curved like a parrot beak. The hoods of the crimson pitcher plant are more or less flat.
Sarracenia minor: Rare [State E | S2 G4]; wet savannas; Coastal Plain. |
