Baccharis L. (Asteraceae)

A genus of about 350-450 species of shrubs, perennial herbs, and trees; of tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate America.

One species reaches tree size in North Carolina, Baccharis halimifolia (Silverling). It is considered native to the state.
