Chamaecyparis Spach. (Cupressaceae)

A genus of about five to six species of trees; of warm temperate to cool temperate North America and Asia.

One species occurs in North Carolina, Chamaecyparis thyoides (Atlantic white cedar). It is considered native to the state.
