Liriodendron L. (Magnoliaceae)

A genus of two species of trees; relictually distributed, with L. tulipifera in e. North America and L. chinense in c. China and n. Vietnam.

One species occurs in North Carolina: L. tulipifera (Yellow-poplar, Tulip-poplar). It is native to the state.
