Pistacia L. (Anacardiaceae)

A genus of about ten to twelve species of trees and shrubs; distributed from the Mediterranean to Afghanistan, Southeast Asia, Central and South America.

One species occurs in North Carolina, Pistacia chinensis (Chinese pistacio). It is not native to the state.
