Torreya Arn. (Taxaceae)

The genus consists of seven species of trees; temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere (1 sp. in FL and adjacent GA, 1 sp. in CA, 1 sp. in Japan, and 4 spp. in c. and s. China and adjacent Burma).

One species occurs in North Carolina: Torreya taxifolia (Florida torreya). It is considered native to FL and GA, but introduced to NC.
