Toxicodendron Mill. (Anacardiaceae)

A genus of about ten to fifteen species of trees and shrubs; primarily temperate, of North America, n. South America, Indonesia, and e. Asia.

One species reaching tree size occurs in North Carolina: Toxicodendron vernix (Poison sumac). It is considered native to the state.
